New Products in our Stores

As with most stores out there, we are always looking for new products to add to what we offer you. Now and again, I put together a list of New Products in our Stores. Here is the latest list of new products in our stores. Hope you find some new favourites 🙂
It has been awhile since I did the last one so here goes:
Klean Kanteen – Reusable Metal straws with Silicon tip. The silicone part comes off so that you can easily clean both parts, visually inspect the cleanliness of the straw tube, comes with the best brush I have seen on the market for cleaning straws, cool colours, and a Great Price of 11.95$ for a pack of four! FYI – we have an excellent offering of Klean Kanteen products – insulated bottles, water bottles and tumblers.
Moonshine Mama’s Elixirs – turmeric based beverages crafted in small batches on Vancouver Island. They produce three flavours – Original Turmeric, Turmeric Lime, and the latest addition – Sour Cherry Turmeric. Many people come in and see it on our shelf and are VERY pleased since they came across it while being out on the coast but didn’t know where to get it in Edmonton – now they know.
Parma Better than Bacon and Parmesan ‘Cheese’ Original – The other day, I was reading the VegNews magazine and they had a two-page spread on ‘bacon’ flavoured products. The only one that rated a 10 out of 10 was the “Better than Bacon” product. I knew I had to have that in our stores and so in a few days I procured it and yes, it is gobsmackingly good! Actuall,y all of the products I have tried from Parma have been excellent.
Annemarie Borlind – LL Regeneration Travel Set. Vegan.
Nanton Nutraceuticals – this company from Nanton, AB produces Rhoziva™. I think it is quite cool that they grow and own their own Rhodiola rosea. From their website:
Rhoziva™ is a proprietary herbal blend utilizing the powerful Rhodiola rosea root that has been proven to fight fatigue, promote mental focus and clarity, enhance memory, increase physical endurance during periods of physical exertion and help support physical and mental stamina during times of increased stress.
Rhodiola rosea protects against glutathione depletion, helping maintain immune function by acting as a potent antioxidant. In addition to helping the body form red blood cells and maintain proper muscle function. Rhodiola rosea also improves the body’s ability to metabolize carbohydrates, fats and proteins while helping maintain healthy skin.
Oven Baked Woof Dog Biscuit – Organic and in three healthy flavours – Blueberry, Banana & Sweet Potato, and Pumpkin. Dogs love vegetables. The other day, during the farmer’s market downtown, a woman bought several items and one small carrot. As soon as the carrot was processed she stepped out of the store and gave it to her dogs. She said they liked carrots above all treats. At times, I have seen dogs tuck into a turnip or a carrot with great relish.
Plant Oils – we have a nice selection of plant oils – Calendula, Vitamin E, Evening Primrose (we also usually carry this one in bulk), Comfrey, and Wheat Germ Oil. Lots of people are looking for small amounts of these oils to make their own personal care products.
Silicone straws – Just in time for back to school lunches. Great addition to our glass and stainless steel straws. Great option for younger people.
Beeswax Pellets – we have sold beeswax blocks for over 20 years but people that are making their own personal care products really love using these small pellets in their projects.
Purica – the cold and flu season is coming upon us and we have stocked up on products that can help people ward off these illnesses and help people deal with the symptoms. Purica makes a couple of products that serve this purpose called Prevail – Cold and Fever. They offer a Maxim and PuriKidz products (dosage appropriate). We have many Purica products in our store.
Phillips Soda Works – small crafted brewed by Phillips Soda Works on Vancouver Island. These are the same people that create the small brewed beers that are enjoyed by many people. They have excellent artwork on their labels but more important, people love their product. We will be replacing the Virgil products with this Canadian line of sodas.
- Root Beer
- Cream Soda
- Ginger Ale
- Cola
Empty Foamer Bottles – Foamers help people use the liquid castile soap much more efficiently. I usually suggest that people use this product when they want to use the castile soap as a hand soap. The nifty device in the pump section foams up the liquid and dispenses it into your hand. What is so great is that it makes using castile soap VERY cost effective. I suggest using a ratio of about 1:8 (one part castile soap to eight parts water). You will have to find your own ratio that works for you. The foamed product should be soapy without being slimy (too much soap).
Lily’s Chocolates – due to the demand for diabetic friendly chocolate. This company uses Fair Trade Certified cocoa and stevia in their bars. A winning combination. This is only available at the Whyte store.
Wild Brine Fermented Sriracha – Say it ain’t so Batman! Fermented Sriracha! This product comes in two flavours – so many choices and ways to get fermented probiotics into your gut.
Townshend’s Tea Company Brew Dr Kombucha – check out the two new flavours: Mango Habanero and Mint Lemonade.
Little Northen Bakehouse – Gluten-Free Hot Dog Buns.
Full Circle – reusable storage bags. These are very clear, durable, reusable, and practical. There are several varieties of these – travel bag (for all your personal care items so that the security guard can readily see the contents), large storage, snack size (perfect for putting some nuts of fresh veggies into), and a sandwich bag.
Bragg’s – Apple Cider Vinegar to-go beverages in four flavours – Grape, Honey, Pomegranate & Cinnamon, and Ginger. Now you can alkalize and boost your immune system to ward against colds and such on the go. Of course, you could also make your own beverages yourself.
Dickies Ginger Beer – this is another small crafted beverage but from the Lower Mainland in BC. These guys started off at the farmer’s markets and sold it in bulk to people. I tried to get it in bulk in our store but the logistics are proving to be more complicated than is acceptable. It is a really superior product. If you really like the hot taste of ginger then this one is for you!
Sproutmaster Kombucha Culture – People love kombucha for how it makes them feel. These beverages have a different, more natural, and more diverse pro-biotics than the highly advertised yogurts and such on the television. Many people are looking at making their own at home since the product can be fairly expensive if you are consuming one every day or so. We now have cultures (SCOBY – Symbiotic Culture of Bateria and Yeast) for you to purchase and start on making your own Fermented Kombucha at home. We also offer the one-gallon glass jars, the swing top bottles, organic fruit and teas to flavour your final product, and several of the staff have experience in kombucha making so you can ask them questions.
Feel Good Elderberry Syrup – Elderberry is the new echinaceas. This berry is supposed to boost your immune and is great for colds and sore throats. Locally made in St. Albert since 2012.
Gorilly Foods – great raw, gluten-free, organic, and vegan snacks. These snack pack mixtures come in six flavours – Jungle, Forest, Baja, Hillside, Coast, and Trail. Nice blends.
Okanagan Rawsome – we have been carrying this brand for about 5 years. They have evolved over the year and still make one of the best raw, organic, and vegan crackers on the market. Small batch made in a small hamlet in BC. A nice cottage industry.

Zazubean Chocolates – we have been carrying this company since they first came onto the market because they were Organic, Fair Trade, and they were a good product. The two new flavours are Nakid EH! and Kiki.
Pranin Pure Foods – plant-based nutritional products, 100% Organic, Gluten-Free, Whole foods. They even have recipes on their website. Nice!

Botanica Turmeric Golden Milk. This is the second “Golden Milk” product that we offer in our store. Turmeric is a very popular product (see my earlier post on new products that lists many turmeric products). We also carry FRESH turmeric.
Our very own peanut butter cookies at our downtown store are a huge hit with our customers. Sorry, but they sell out every day so there are not any to transfer to Whyte 🙁
I list all our new products like this because it allows people to easily search via the internet. When I posted that we had stainless steel enema kits the other month people found us and were surprised to find such a high quility product in Edmonton and not just online.
The Internet can be a wonderful place and it is very awesome to search and research things but Google is only as good as the people that use it to search for items. That is why Amazon typically pops up first on many searches for products because many people click on their resultss. Small, local independent store can’t really compete with that kind of biased internet search.
PS- if you put in the word Edmonton in the search it should show more local results.
