Community League Member Appreciation Day – 4th Annual

For the past couple of years the Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues has been coordinating a citywide Community League Day. This year happened on Saturday, September 19th, 2015. It is a day that many community hosted events as well as an opportunity for people living in the community to come out and find out what the community league can offer them, a chance for people to meet others, get involved and join their local community league.

I like community leagues. I think they perform an important service to helping a community come together.

If you can’t make it out to the Community League Days you can easily sign up on line (and print out your own membership card). You can obtain your membership by visiting the Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues’ website at

So to ‘reward’ people that become members in their local community leagues for the 2015/2016 year Earth’s General Store will host Edmonton’s Fourth Annual Community League Member Appreciation Day. This will consist of a store-wide sale at both our stores and a barbecue (at Whyte Avenue ONLY). All people have to do is bring in their NEW 2015/2016 Community League membership card to the store and we will deduct 10% off their total bill (sale items included!).

Ask local businesses in your neighbourhood to participate in this appreciation day. Perhaps a free coffee with your membership or some other expression by them to show that they value being part of the same community. We challenge all businesses to participate in showing appreciation to those that become members in their local Community League. This year I see some other businesses and organisations are ‘rewarding’ people with discounts at EFCL’s website.
