May Holiday Hours

Our May Holiday Hours for Monday, May 23rd, 2022 will be our usual holiday hours – 11 am to 5 pm. We hope EVERYONE has some great times this weekend – gardening, camping, rides in the river valley, or even the hockey games.
Notice
Due to the changes to protect the public (restriction of bulk refilling), people self-isolating, and such we are implementing some store changes.
We love you. We love our staff. We want everyone to be safe and healthy.
Even if you do not have any of the symptoms of Covid-19 we ask that you do not come into the store. Perhaps have someone shop for you. Other stores and businesses offer home delivery – SPUD.ca (the owners of Blush Lane), Organic Box, and all of the big national and multinational corporate stores offer some kind of delivery service (perhaps through InstaCart).
If you come to the store, we ask that you wash your hands as soon as you enter the store. There is a wash station close to the entrance of the store and a second one on the other side of the produce area.
Reduce Touching
We then ask that you resist touching anything that you are not picking up to buy. This will reduce the transmission of anything between you and other people in the store (we do a continuous sanitization of common surfaces but not every item in the store).
We will only allow a maximum of 10 customers in the store at a time. This helps to allow people to socially distance when they are in the store. We ask that you respect other people in the store, their space, and ensure that you are also comfortable with the spacing.
Staff will try and ensure that people maintain this distance. Please do not take it personally. These are just reminders. If you do need to pass by someone please pass by them back-to-back and not in front of them. Please be patient. Things are a little jammed up with this new way to be in public places like grocery stores.
We ask everyone to practice safe distancing at all times while in the store.
Wear a Mask
On August 1st, 2020, the City of Edmonton made mask-wearing mandatory in all enclosed spaces – shopping malls, stores, etc.
On December 8th, 2020 the Alberta government made the wearing of masks mandatory across the whole province.
This means that when you come into the store you will need to wear a mask – for your protection and the protection of others.
During the first lock-down earlier this year we reduced our store hours. This had more to do with the lack of staff we had available to maintain our regular hours. Our staff has done a great job during this adjustment and we have been able to resume our regular store hours

Since we started our business over 30 years ago we have paid our staff higher than the Alberta ‘minimum wage’. For several years we pursued achieving the Edmonton/Alberta Living Wage for all employees. We have always paid one dollar more than the minimum wage but felt that was not enough. When the Alberta NDP government raised …
Payment Shift – Debit vs Credit Cards Most people that follow us on Social Media and/or read our blog posts know that we are a local independent business. As such, we know firsthand how valuable it is that we support local businesses at all times, not just during pandemics, global economic collapses, etc. We want …
I have a problem with the UCP’s plan regarding their role out of the Critical Worker Benefit program. First – EVERYONE deserves financial support from the government. That is the governments’ job! A plumber that is called out in the middle of the night to fix a furnace or burst water pipe is an essential …
This was a video by a customer of the store. People on social media liked it so I thought I would share it here as well. I hope you enjoy it.
Our holiday hours for July 1st, 2020 are 12 noon to 6 pm. Stay dry and have a good day with friends and family
As many people know, Planet Organic closed all of its operations in March after struggling for many months. This was a big loss to the local organic scene. There were many aspects of Planet Organic I did not care for but they were serving a segment of our city that would not consider being customers …
Because we will be doing repairs to the entranceway to our parking lot we will have to close the access to the parking lot on Monday, June 22nd, 2020. Please see the map for alternate parking while we conduct these Parking Lot Repairs.
For over the past three months we have all had to learn and practice Covid Skills. These are all new to our society and many of us feel put upon by the authorities and the disruption in our lives. The possible alternative is not an attractive one. Our store and staff have worked to make our space and interactions as safe and respectful as possible. We ask that you share this space with our staff and other customers by observing proper Covid skills.
We have decided to curtail our open hours to reflect the Covid-19 environment.
