Over the years people have asked us – what do you offer in bulk? Well, finally here is our bulk list! This list continues to evolve and change over time. There are many items that will be always on it – like flour and maple syrup but a very slow moving tea may be dropped so if you are looking for an unusual item then perhaps phone first.

We encourage people to buy bulk items from our store – or from any other store that offers bulk items. When you buy bulk items you do more than save money – you save resources.

For example, we get our bulk rice in paper sacks weighing 25 pounds. These paper sacks are recycled by us. The same producer of the rice also makes their rice available in 2 pound plastic bags for the retail market. There are 6 bags to a box made from cardboard. It would take two boxes to equal the weight of one sack. We also have to look at the volume that each of these two forms of products take. The sack takes up about 1/3 less space than the 12 bags in two boxes and weighs about 15% less. That means when the product is being distributed the fuel and storage requirements of the sack is less. The efficiency of the truck/train is being wasted by transporting air rather than product.

So here is a list of the products we presently have in bulk. It is always a fluid list and that is why it has not been produced in the past. We are always taking things off the list but we add more to the list than we remove from our inventory. There are over 475 items on this list. Time to restock your pantry and check our bulk list!

We strongly encourage you to bring in your own container, bag, or any reusable item to refill from our bulk items. We give you a 5 cent reward when you reuse a container and we charge you 5 cents when you use one of our bags.
