Earth’s General Store is working with Good Note Farm and Maryann Borch to bring a Syrian Cheese Workshop & Fundraiser to our downtown store this coming Sunday, November 8th (same day as our Sunday Sale Day).
Come and learn how to make a variety of Simple Syrian cheeses and support a good cause.
Funds raised till go to support our newly formed Refugee Response Collective. The money will be contributed to helping Syrian refugees find safe passage and a country to live in.
We will learn how to make Syrian String Cheese , Majdouli, and a soft spreadable goat cheese called Jibneh. Sunday, November 8, 2015 Basic cheese making will also be covered – all material will be supplied by instructor (Maryann Borch).
Cost $40 each… noting it’s a fundraiser so if you would like to contribute more please bring your donation with you to the class. Tax recepts are a work in progress, likely not available as this is a service. Any additional donations would get receipts though.
Purchase your spot through this EventBrite Page.

The name of our project is Safe and Sound!!!! Our group of 30+ families is fundraising to eventually bring Syrian refugee families here to Edmonton, but at the very least send much needed help to the overflowing camps
This event is happening on a Sunday evening. The on street parking around the store downtown is free on Sundays. There are several surface lots, underground, and tower parking spaces in the area but they cost money
The LRT station (Bay/Enterprise Square Station) has an exit on the North East corner of Jasper and 104th Street. Very convenient which is 1/2 a block south of the store. There are lots of buses that travel along Jasper and #8 stops on 102nd Avenue half a block north of the store.
