Over the years we have screened over a hundred documentaries and films. Most of these were done under the umbrella of “Thoughtful Tuesday” or “Movie Monday”. In November 2015 we launched our updated version – Saturday Documentary Screenings. Please find below our Saturday Documentary Screenings for December.
For these screenings we use a format based on the classic “book club”. We will watch the documentary together and then discuss it. The group is small and the discuss is an important part of this format. the discussion allows us to delve deeper into the subject, reinforce the message, to gather as a community, and to raise our level of knowledge and compassion.
The documentaries are suppose to challenge, anger, instill passion, and to inspire people to take action. They will cover a vast number of subjects – plant based diets, climate change, gender issues, economics, transportation/mobility, food, permaculture, food security, politics, and more.
The documentaries will be on Saturday nights throughout the winter (2015/2016). They will start at 7pm and will be happening at our downtown store (10150 – 104th Street).
There is limited seating (20 seats) and we ask that you register at the appropriate EventBrite page so that we can gauge the number of people coming. You do not need to print a ticket. If you cannot attend after getting a ticket please cancel so that it will release the ticket so someone else can use the seat.
